SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Mar. 18, 2011 – Hear that roar? Feel that energy? It’s the engine of your dream car warming up for Barrett-Jackson’s 9th Annual Palm Beach Auction. The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auction is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a week-long celebration of cars, stars and charitable causes. Now’s the time to buy your tickets, dream about making room in your garage, or to get your showroom ready for your stunning collector vehicle.

The premier automotive lifestyle event takes place April 7-9, 2011, at the South Florida Fairgrounds. From the hundreds of collector vehicles that will cross the block, to the dozens of famous names that flock to the auction, to the millions of dollars raised for charity each year, the Palm Beach auction will excite everyone from the first-time attendee to the veteran car collector.

“The Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach event continues to be highly anticipated by collectors in Florida and along the East Coast,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman/CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “At our annual Scottsdale event in January, we began our 40th Anniversary celebration by once again demonstrating the resiliency and popularity of this exhilarating hobby. With awareness at an all time high and buyers eager to nab their dream cars, the Palm Beach auction is the ‘can’t miss’ event this spring.”

Barrett-Jackson week in Palm Beach kicks off with a number of activities beginning on April 2nd including the Second Annual Barrett-Jackson Road Rally at 2 p.m. and Barrett-Jackson Night at City Place runs from 4-8 p.m. which will include car displays and Barrett-Jackson giveaways. A cruise-in car show will be held at Al Packer Ford West from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 3rd. These events are free to the public.

Starting Wednesday, April 6th at 8 a.m., the fairgrounds will be filled with exhibitors, displays, activities and entertainment. Preview Day runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for credentialed guests only and the Opening Night Gala will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets to the Opening Night Gala are available online at www.Barrett-Jackson.com

SPEED will broadcast more than 23 hours of live, high-definition TV coverage of the auction for fans and car enthusiasts worldwide beginning Thursday, April 7th. Gates open at 8 a.m. daily, auction action starts at 10 a.m. Meguiar’s care seminars run throughout the week to help collectors and enthusiasts keep that auction glow on their precious collection. Ford and GM will also let attendees take a turn behind the wheel at the ever-popular Ride ‘N Drive exhibit.

“We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate 40 years than to throw a huge, coast-to-coast party for collector car enthusiasts from all corners of the country,” added Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Palm Beach is the second stop in our momentous year, and we’re thrilled to celebrate with our East Coast fans, friends and family.”

Honoring its past and looking to the future, Barrett-Jackson will also offer the option for both Reserve and No Reserve consignment applications. Vehicles with an agreed estimated value above $50,000 are now being considered for Reserve placement exclusively in the Palm Beach auction, creating a hybrid environment that appeals to consignors and buyers within all price ranges.

Barrett-Jackson’s annual Palm Beach event continues to grow in importance and has become a fixture in South Florida. Last year, Barrett-Jackson recorded more than $20 million in sales and welcomed over 55,000 attendees in Palm Beach. The company also raised more than $1.5 million for various local and national charities during the 2010 Palm Beach auction.
