LAS VEGAS – Sept. 9, 2010 – The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company announced today that a collection of high-performance exotic cars will cross the auction block at No Reserve during the 3rd Annual Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction on Thursday, Sept. 23, through Saturday, Sept. 25, at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

SPEED will broadcast 21.5 hours of live coverage over the three days, with highlights to include a 2008 Bugatti Veyron and 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren convertible. The Italian super cars will include a 1988 Ferrari 512 Testarossa, a 1994 Ferrari 348 Spyder, a 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello, a 1999 Ferrari 355 F-1 Spyder and a 2003 Ferrari 456 M GT.

“Barrett-Jackson creates a docket of amazing cars at every auction,” said Craig Jackson, chairman/CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We were the first to demonstrate the value of modern collectible vehicles, which our customers enjoy acquiring as much as they do their vintage cars. The Bugatti, McLaren and Ferraris represent a nice stable of vehicles for the serious enthusiast who wants to diversify his collection and still drive his car.”

Known as the crown jewel of exotics, the 2008 Bugatti Veyron (Lot #658) is number 80 out of 300 produced and was the fastest production car around the world in 2008. With only 11,800 original miles on it, the rare high-performance car has 1,001 horsepower, 922 ft./lb. of torque, carbon-ceramic brakes and four Turbo chargers. The vehicle has a top speed of 253 mph and goes zero to 60 in 2.47 seconds. A car fit for any automotive enthusiast that has a need for speed, the Bugatti is sure to be a show-stopper during the auction.

“Designed to outperform any car on the Autobahn and out style any vehicle in the parking lot, the Veyron is a prize that all car aficionados would like to have in their collection,” added Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “The smooth acceleration and handling of the car, powered by 1,000 horsepower, makes you feel like you’re in the cockpit of a fighter jet.”

The SLR McLaren Roadster convertible (Lot #658.1) has a Crystal Antimony Grey exterior that encases a Silver Arrow Red leather interior. The luxurious ride features a 5.5 liter, eight cylinder engine with a black carbon trim package. The McLaren will be up for grabs during the Barrett-Jackson auction from the original owner with less than 600 miles.

Italy’s prized-auto manufacturer will also be well represented at this year’s auction with both V12 and V8 powered Ferraris available. The 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello (Lot #641.1) features a 5.5 liter, 485 horsepower V12 mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The sophisticated black exterior and tan interior combination makes this Ferrari stand out from the crowd. With a mere 16,000 miles on it, the 550 comes complete with service history and all of its books. The 1999 Ferrari 355 F-1 Spyder (Lot #652.2) is a traditional Italian sports machine with less than 10,500 miles. Its 3.5 liter V8 is connected to a F-1 paddle transmission; the car is in a desirable Giallo Yellow exterior with Nero Black top.

“Collectors who favor Italian muscle will love these two Ferraris,” noted Davis. “The rare sports cars both have low mileage and were kept in pristine condition.”

Other Ferraris in the line-up include a 1988 Ferrari 512 Testarossa (Lot #375), with a 12 cylinder engine, five-speed manual transmission and only 31,200 original miles. The 1994 Ferrari 348 Spyder (Lot #628) is Ferrari Red with tan leather interior and a five-speed manual transmission. The 2003 Ferrari 456 M GT (Lot #653) has 6,200 original miles, Hi-Fi stereo system and a satellite navigation system. The original bill of sale and service record are also included with the car.
