Mecum’s Vintage Tractor Auction To Offer Stellar Lineup In Nashville Region

Mecum Auctions will host its inaugural Gone Farmin’ Nashville vintage tractor auction this June 6-7 at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park in Franklin, Tenn. With 150 vintage tractors and more than 300 signs and farm relics to be offered for sale throughout the two-day event, the auction lineup is chock-full of a number of truly unique tractors and collectibles.

Headlining the tractors is a complete set of G John Deeres, all 11 variations that were manufactured. Assembled and owned by Jim and Beverly Vaden, the collection took the couple more than 20 years to amass, and at one point, included nearly 45 G John Deeres. The entire group of 11 has been restored aesthetically and mechanically. Of the Vaden’s tractors, the 1947 GN (Lot S24) and 1947 GW (Lot S25) are certainly the most rare; only 43 ‘47 GNs were made and just 107 ‘47 GWs. Another notable collection to be offered, all at no reserve, is a complete John Deere 30 series, featuring eight tractors from The Robert and Kay Bagsby Collection.

Additional auction headliners include a 1958 John Deere 720 Diesel Hi-Crop (Lot S33), one of just nine built with electric start, and a very desirable 1951 Ford 8N V8 (Lot S48), as well as a nice collection of Fords offered at no reserve from The Dennis Jennings Collection. All tractors will be sold on Saturday, June 7.

Signs and farm relics to be offered include everything from vintage tin, neon and lighted advertisers’ signs to pedal tractors, butter churns, gas pumps, watches and more. Friday, June 6 will be a day dedicated to the auctioning of these highly collectible items.

Admission to Mecum’s Gone Farmin’ Nashville auction is complimentary and both buyers and spectators are invited to attend. An early auction preview will be held Thursday, June 5 from 4-7 p.m. Doors will open at 7 a.m. both Friday and Saturday with the auctions starting at 10 a.m. daily.
