Mecum’s Chicago Auction This Oct. 9-11 To Feature 1,000 Collector Cars

Mecum Auctions’ 2014 Chicago classic and collector car auction will return to the Schaumburg Convention Center this Oct. 9-11 featuring an exceptional lineup of 1,000 collector cars headlined by a healthy variety of American muscle, Corvettes and more.

Open to buyers, sellers and spectators, last year’s auction drew record numbers of registered bidders, and Mecum anticipates another full-house turnout at one of the Midwest’s premier venues.

Main attractions at this year’s event abound. Among them is a Bloomington Gold Survivor 1967 Silver-on-Red COPO Corvette Convertible (Lot S97). The car still sports its original paint, interior and drivetrain, just 36,850 original miles, and is documented with the original tank sticker, Protect-O-Plate and complete ownership history. Another auction headliner is a 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T (Lot S119). An immaculate product of a professional restoration, this is one of 59 1970 Challengers produced with both R/T and SE packages with Hemi power and one of only four built to Canadian market specs. Other featured lots include two Nickey super Camaros (Lots S122 and S123) offered from Chicago-collector Mike Guarise’s collection, as well as a Chicago-local 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A (Lot S126) sold new from Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge and a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 factory prototype show car (Lot S129).

Join Mecum this Oct. 9-11 at Chicagoland’s only collector and classic car auction with doors opening each day at 8 a.m. Portions of all three days will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network in addition to the live stream of the entire auction at www.mecum.com. Mecum’s website is updated daily with the latest consignments including detailed descriptions and photographs of the vehicles.
