Mecum Auctions is always pushing the envelope in the auction world and the company is doing it again this May 2-3 with the world’s first SuperYacht auction to be held in South Beach, Fla. By bringing an entirely new business model to the yachting industry, Mecum’s Yacht Auctions will allow brokers the opportunity to utilize the auction platform to instill a sense of urgency in their sales, cutting time from the equation while maintaining commission earnings. A promising lineup for the May auction includes more than 20 yachts in total, seven of which fall into the
SuperYacht category of boats larger than 75 feet.

Mecum Auctions has a strong 27-year history of success in the auction world selling classic and collector vehicles, many worth millions. The auction house will now bring its record of success to the yachting world. And buying a yacht has never been easier than it is at a Mecum Yacht Auction. With a minimum 10-day inspection period and the option for advanced sea trials, purchasing a yacht is as simple as raising a hand come sale time. With the drop of the gavel, the yacht will change hands and the high bidder will emerge as the new owner. Among the grand selection to be offered in South Beach are a Delta 124, a 130-foot Hatteras, a 98 Destiny, 105 Custom yacht, an 86-foot Amer, and other other desirable yachts ranging in size from 45 to 75 feet. Detailed descriptions of select lots are included below.

All SuperYachts and yachts will have a general overview survey performed and available to bidders prior to the auction. Interested bidders can also arrange to have their own surveyors inspect a yacht prior to the auction. Bidders need not be present at the sale. Bids can be placed via phone or online. Financing is available via Essex Credit. To register to bid visit MecumYachtAuctions.com. For more information, visit the website or call 1-855-66-MECUM (1-855-666-3286).

Delta 124
This completely custom, one-of-kind, 124-foot yacht is an excellent example of the Delta Marine shipyard’s construction technology, craftsmanship and proven naval architecture. Powered by twin 1,450-hp Detroit Diesel 16V92T engines that give it a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots, it is a sea-kindly, go-anywhere vessel. Its range at an economical 10-knot speed is 2,300 nautical miles, consuming just 40 gallons per hour. The Pavlik Design Group created the 124-foot Delta’s airy interior décor, which has a relaxed, beach house ambiance, filled with warm, light woods and fine stonework. Large windows bring in light and views of the surrounding sea. There are spacious accommodations for eight guests in four staterooms on board. The master suite is located on the lower deck, amidships; the most comfortable spot on the yacht for sleeping in all sea conditions. It features a king berth and en-suite marble his-and-hers heads with a Jacuzzi tub and shower. There are two mirror-image queen staterooms with en-suite marble heads lie aft. A VIP stateroom with en-suite marble head is located forward on the main deck. The Delta also offers roomy accommodations for six crew. The yacht’s tri-deck design, which encompasses a bridge deck with sky lounge topped by a sun deck area, large main and lower decks, offers multiple exterior spaces for entertaining, sunbathing, and enjoying a long soak in the six-person bridge-deck Jacuzzi. Launched by Delta in 1998, this classic motoryacht has been meticulously maintained by a professional crew. Its soft goods, entertainment systems and equipment have been updated by continuous refits and refurbishments over the past seven years.

Hatteras
One of the largest yachts to launch from the famous North Carolina shipyard of Hatteras, is this 130-foot, semi-displacement Hatteras Tri-Deck Motor Yacht. Built in 1995 to ABS standards, this spacious SuperYacht features a classic interior by noted designer Dee Robinson. The yachts interior configuration has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests overnight in five cabins, comprising a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins, while also capable of carrying up to seven crew onboard in four cabins to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. Powered by two Detroit Diesel (16V149) 2,446hp engines and set in motion by twin screw propellers, Motor yacht Charisma is capable of a top speed of 24 knots, and comfortably cruises at 18-plus knots.

Destiny 98
This 98-foot semi-displacement motoryacht is “best in class” when it comes to interior and exterior volume. Styled by well-known SuperYacht designer Evan Marshall, the vessel’s elegant interior is characterized by comfortable, overstuffed furniture, fine stonework and high-gloss woods. Eight guests are accommodated in four luxurious suites, including a main-deck master and lower-deck VIP – both with king berths – plus queen and twin staterooms. A 2012 refit updated the soft goods throughout the yacht. Equipped with twin 16V2000 MTU diesel engines, the vessel offers a top speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 21 knots. This Destiny 98 had only one owner, who spared no expense to maintain the vessel in top condition.
