Mecum Offers Multiple No-Reserve Vehicle Collections

Mecum Auctions is excited to announce select vehicles from the Zeb Morris Collection, the David and Pauline Haas Collection and the Walt Hollifield Collection will be offered at no reserve during the St. Charles Auction at Pheasant Run Resort Sept. 16-19, 2010.

Morris, a longtime collector, will sell his one-of-a-kind 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible along with eight other muscle cars at Mecum's St. Charles Auction. Featuring a Ram Air III 400/366 HP engine and 4-speed transmission, this vehicle is documented by the Pontiac Historical Society as the only triple Black 1969 Judge convertible built in this configuration and one of only 108 built that year. The Pontiac has plenty of optional equipment, including a wood rim steering wheel, Rally gauges, hood tach, an 8-track player and Redline tires.

Among the 27 vehicles consigned by David and Pauline Haas - who along with their four sons have been collecting since the 1980s - are several General Motors classics as well as significant Chrysler 300 and Edsel vehicles, all of which have been properly restored and maintained to the highest degree.

Mecum will sell 18 lots from the collection of Walt Hollifield, who has been drag racing, collecting and restoring Pontiacs for more than 40 years. In addition to many Pontiacs, the cars offered range from a 1935 Ford and a 1969 427/435 HP Tri Power Corvette to a Howitzer-armed Jeep that saw action in the first Gulf War.

Also crossing the auction block in St. Charles is a 1968 Chevrolet C10 Pickup owned by Ray Walker of the music group Jordanaires. Walker, who purchased the truck from his cousin on April 1, 1974, recalls driving to and from the group's recording sessions and even giving rides to singer-songwriters Don Gibson and Chuck Howard.

The St. Charles Auction will broadcast live on Mecum's national TV show "Mecum Auto Auction: Muscle Cars & More" on HD Theater - Discovery Communications' first 24-hour high-definition cable network. For a complete list of vehicles, visit www.Mecum.com.
