Mecum Gone Farmin’ Spring Tractor Auction Tops $484,500
Mecum Auctions announces its recent Gone Farmin' Spring Tractor Auction had an impressive 80% sell-through rate and total gross sales (excluding buyer's premium) surpassing $484,500.
The one-day auction, which took place March 26, 2011 in Walworth, Wis., featured 150 tractors up for bid. Among them were 21 high-quality tractors from the Tom Geyman Collection, all of which sold at no reserve. Geyman's investment-grade 1966 Farmall Tractor featuring an International 1206 turbo charged diesel engine was the auction's top seller at $24,000.
"We had a very successful auction, with Tom Geyman's Collection serving as the centerpiece of the sale and exceeding everyone's expectations - including his own," said Dan Mecum, operations manager for Mecum Auctions. "Collectors from across the country placed their bids on Geyman's tractors, which were top-notch in quality and had some significant history, like his 1961 Ford 801 that belonged to his father-in-law and was sold with the original bill of sale."
