Mecum Auctions Joins Panther DRR for the 96th Running of the Indianapolis 500

The Mecum Auction Company is excited to announce that it will join Panther DRR as the team’s primary sponsor for the No. 22 Panther DRR machine piloted by Oriol Servia for the 96th Running of the Indianapolis 500.

“The Mecum family has been involved in racing for over 40 years, and the Indy 500 is the pinnacle of racing. So when Panther DRR presented this opportunity to us, it took less than five seconds to get onboard, and I can’t wait to put a Mecum “SOLD” sticker on a bottle of milk this Sunday,” commented President and CEO, Dana Mecum.

Panther DRR Co-Owner Robbie Buhl noted, “We’re elated to have Mecum on board for the Indianapolis 500, as well as partner with us for the rest of the 2012 IndyCar season on the No. 22 entry. Dennis Reinbold, our entire team of sponsor partners and I share a deep appreciation and adoration for all cars, so this couldn’t be a better fit. Our goal is to help Dana and the entire team at Mecum Auctions put many more “SOLD” stickers on many more cars in the future.”

Servia, who will be piloting the No. 22 Chevy-powered Mecum Auctions machine, will be giving it his all to bring the auction company a victory on Sunday. Last year, the veteran driver started on the front row in third position, led for 18 laps and finished the race in sixth position. This will be the Spaniard’s fourth Indianapolis 500 start and he will be fighting for the win from 27th position.

Panther DRR will be back on track Friday, May 25th for final practice for the 96th Running of the Indianapolis 500. The race is scheduled for noon (ET) on Sunday, May 27. Live https://premier-pharmacy.com/product-category/diabetes/ coverage on ABC and the IMS Radio Network will start at 11 a.m. Please visit www.dreyerreinboldracing.com for more updates.

About Panther DRR
Panther DRR will be entering its 13th season of full-time competition in 2012, making it one of the longest-tenured teams in IZOD IndyCar Series competition. Current Co-Owners, Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl, first teamed in full-time competition at the Walt Disney World Speedway in January of 2000. With Buhl behind the wheel, the two owners tasted victory in their debut race. DRR now has over 316 starts to tuck under its belt and has qualified a total of 31 cars for the Indianapolis 500. In its history, the team has boasted a championship list of alumni drivers. Besides Buhl, the team has run Indianapolis 500 winners, Al Unser, Jr., Buddy Lazier, and Buddy Rice, along with IZOD IndyCar Series race winner, Ryan Briscoe. The team has one of the longest lines of heritage in American open-wheel racing and the Indianapolis 500 as Dennis Reinbold’s grandfather, "Pop" Dreyer, built leading roadsters that raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
