Large Crowds And Strong Sales At Mecum’s Gone Farmin’ Iowa Premier

This past weekend’s Gone Farmin’ Iowa Premier hosted by Mecum Auctions brought 225 vintage tractors and nearly 300 signs and farm relics to the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa. The auction achieved a strong 80 percent sell-through rate with 181 tractors hammering sold throughout the two-day event. With a grand $1,496,875 in hammer sales, Mecum’s Gone Farmin’ Division considers this auction to be another great success.

Both Friday and Saturday of the vintage tractor auction were host to standing-room only crowds as eager bidding led to strong sales. The George Kerckhove Collection took over the Friday lineup with 45 tractors crossing the block with no reserve and Saturday saw some truly rare and desirable tractors demanding high-dollar.

The top 10 sales list was dominated by a 1963 John Deere 3010 Orchard (Lot S35) that hammered at $65,000. The New Generation tractor is one of just 19 gas Orchards built and features a beautiful and correct restoration. The second seat in the list is occupied by a 1974 International 1568 (Lot S80) that demanded a $41,500 sale price. Another completely restored tractor, this red and white beauty boasts just 2,600 actual hours.
