Dana Mecum’s Original Spring Classic Auction In Indianapolis To Feature Extraordinary Vehicle Lineup
A star-studded lineup of historically significant race cars, impressive muscle cars and valuable collector vehicles will cross the auction block during the 22nd annual Dana Mecum Original Spring Classic Auction, May 13-17, 2009, in Indianapolis, Ind.
“Our Spring Classic Auction has drawn so many spectacular cars and collections that we’ve added an extra day to satisfy the overwhelming demand!” explained Dana Mecum, president of Mecum Auction. “Most notably, the 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra has garnered incredible attention and will be a historic event when it crosses the auction block. With additional Shelby race cars and our selection of investment-grade Corvettes – among countless other vehicles – we have built on the success of the initial Spring Classic in Indy and are thrilled with the 2009 collection of high-dollar cars we have to offer.”
In addition to the magnificent collection of cars, Mecum has also expanded its neon sign auction with more than 300 collectible signs. The signs, nearly all of which are rare, original versions, will sell Saturday, May 16.
The Original Spring Classic Auction will be broadcast live on Mecum’s popular television series, “Mecum Auto Auction: Muscle Cars & More” on HD Theater – Discovery Communications’ first 24-hour high-definition cable network, offering compelling real-world and motorized content.
“We’re delighted to be back with HD Theater for Season Two in the town where it all began,” said Mecum, adding the show will highlight many of the Spring Classic’s 1,250 cars to be offered for sale.
