Dana Mecum to Auction 1971 Foyt Coyote at Indy Spring Classic

Mecum Auctions will offer an original Indianapolis 500 race car on Saturday, May 21, 2011 during its upcoming Original Spring Classic Auction in Indianapolis, Ind.

The 1971 Foyt Coyote has been completely rebuilt and immaculately restored to its #14 Sheraton Thompson Spl livery. Driven by A.J. Foyt, Donnie Allison and George Snider, this race car was qualified and raced in two consecutive Indianapolis 500 races. In 1971, Allison drove the Coyote to a 6th place Indy 500 finish, and in 1972 Foyt's long-time friend George Snider drove the Coyote to an 11th place Indy 500 finish.
