SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. (Jan. 30, 2013) – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™, has always had a large charitable focus since its first auction in 1971, and this year was no different. Barrett-Jackson has worked to provide a platform for consignors and charitable causes to align and raise funds. The 2014 Scottsdale car auction sold 14 cars and experiences for charity, which raised more than $4.4 million to benefit a variety of charity and noble causes. Barrett-Jackson continued its strong philanthropic efforts, working side-by-side with auto industry and motorsports to raise money for local and national charities. One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised by Barrett-Jackson go directly to the charity.

The Opening Night Gala kicked off an incredible week of charity auctions items, which included a Billy Baldwin auction of the ultimate 2015 Super Bowl package with all proceeds benefiting the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund as well as a 1987 Oldsmobile Firenza, Warren Johnson’s NHRA Pro Stock Racecar, that was auctioned with all proceeds benefiting the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. In total, the Opening Night Gala raised $160,000.

In addition, Barrett-Jackson’s Gene Simmons-endorsed Lot #3006 a 1956 Ford F-100 Custom Shelby truck to benefit The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan raised $450,000.

Adding to its legacy of giving back to the armed forces, Barrett-Jackson offered a unique part of military history by packaging Lot #3008 a 1959 Cessna L-19E Airplane and Lot #3008.1 a 1958 Dodge M37 Military Truck to bidders. The 1959 model L-19E Bird Dog was donated by Cessna Aircraft Company with special thanks to experts at Kansas Aircraft Corporation, responsible for sourcing the plane. Proceeds from the sale of the package benefited the Armed Forces Foundation and their ongoing efforts to assist active-duty and retired military personnel.

All-New Auction Site at WestWorld of Scottsdale Sets Two World Records

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. (Jan. 22, 2014) – Barrett-Jackson, “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions”™, announced today that Barrett-Jackson and Classic Party Rentals were recognized by Guinness World Records for two records.  Barrett-Jackson’s GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® achievements were verified on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, for “Largest Marquee” – 435,656.95 square feet – and “Largest Single-Unit Marquee” – 351,210.33 square feet. Barrett-Jackson just concluded their 43^rd auction at the new auction site, which was held Jan. 12-19 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Barrett-Jackson’s all-new auction facility is nearly 1 million square feet of everything automotive. The assembled temporary tents exceeded the previous records for “Largest Marquee” by approximately 247,307 square feet and “Largest Single-Unit Marquee” by 124,415 square feet. The former world record holder was a marquee covering an area of 188,350 sq. feet and was erected by the firm of Deuter from Augsburg, West Germany for the 1958 Welcome Expo in Brussels, Belgium.

Barrett-Jackson’s 43rd annual Scottsdale auction – held Jan. 12-19, 2014 – will be seen on channels including FOX Broadcast, the FOX Business Network, FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 and the National Geographic Channel. “This opening gala sets the tone for the week and last night was tremendous. The opening night gala had several memorable moments. After a welcoming by Craig Jackson and Steve Davis, two special, charity auction items were presented. Billy Baldwin offered the ultimate 2015 Super Bowl (Phoenix, AZ) package, benefiting the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, which raised $100,000 in the auction. Additional donations were made by Bret Michaels and two loyal Barrett-Jackson customers, one who donated an additional $10,000 and one who donated another $5,000, bringing the total to $125,000 for the Baldwin charity. The Darrell Gwynn Foundation benefitted from the auction of a 1987 Oldsmobile Firenza, Warren Johnson’s NHRA Pro Stock Racecar, in the amount of $35,000. After that, rock legend Bret Michaels performed and opened the Westworld facility in a rocking performance, entertaining thousands in this new venue.
