RENO, Nevada – July 23, 2015 – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions®, is building an exciting docket of custom vehicles for the famous Hot August Nights auction, held August 6-8, 2015, at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center in Reno, Nevada. Hot August Nights is the premier event for hot rods and custom vehicles and Barrett-Jackson has built a docket that largely complements that theme. Among the most anticipated consignments is a collection of Fords including the 1936 Ford Custom Sedan (Lot #624) finished by Count’s Kustoms, utilizing a Corvette C4 suspension and a GM crate Ram Jet V8 engine.

“Hot August Nights has a long-standing tradition of bringing together the world’s most elite customizers,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We enjoy helping Hot August Nights carry their nostalgic theme through to our auction by filling our docket with fantastic customs such as these.”

The highly-anticipated 1936 Ford Custom Sedan (Lot #624) is dressed in a stunning, Burnt Orange custom paint, custom pinstripes and airbrush fades. This over-the-top build was finished by Count’s Kustoms and carries an array of eye-catching features. This hot rod rides on Corvette C4 suspension and adjustable air ride shockwaves, and is powered by a GM crate Ram Jet V8 with electronic fuel injection and a 4L80E automatic overdrive transmission. Inside the all-steel body, the black leather and suede interior is accompanied by power seats, windows and sunroof.

1933 Ford 3-Window (Lot #633) Custom Coupe

The black exterior features a custom hood and side panels and a deluxe grill, with the interior sporting red leather along with a custom sound system and banjo custom steering wheel, as well as the technology of rear- and sideview cameras

“Our Reno Tahoe fans truly understand the time, talent and detail that goes into the award-winning customs that cross our block during the week of Hot August Nights,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “This year’s Ford customs will showcase the skillfulness and passion these custom works of art represent.”

Another Ford custom, appropriately titled “Mellow Yellow,” showcases an outstanding build on an all-steel, fully streetable ’34 Ford Roadster (Lot #634). Under the hood, this custom Ford features a HEMI engine boasting approximately 600 horsepower along with a hydraulic roller cam and lifters, adjustable roller rocker arms, dual carburetors, custom aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. Built to show-winning and concours quality, this build has seen only 760 miles since completion.

Also sure to be a fan favorite in Reno Tahoe is a ’56 Ford F600 Custom Pickup (Lot #646). The truck was transformed from a single-cab 22-inch flatbed F600 into a 4-door cab that features Swedish leather and a five-screen DVD stereo entertainment system. Other custom additions include hand-formed front and rear roll pans, a one-off machined console center, hand-built running boards, 2005 Denali bucket seats and a fully polished Ram Jet engine that cranks out 502 horsepower.

14 DAYS UNTIL SCOTTSDALE: 1969 MUSCLE CARS

This 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 is one of more than 140 vehicles from the Ron Pratte Collection crossing the block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in January.

A true 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 (Lot #2049), this beautiful car has matching date codes, casting numbers and engine numbers. With fewer than 2,000 BOSS 302s produced and built in 1969, and with even fewer having the original engine, transmission and rear end, this Mustang is incredibly rare. As reported on the included original Build Sheet and Elite Marti Report, this BOSS was ordered for a retired Ford Employee exactly as is.

The 1969 Mustang BOSS 302 was built for the Trans Am racing circuit back in 1969 and it competed against the Chevy Camaro Z/28. Both cars had the exact same engine displacement and the exact same horsepower, but the BOSS 302 was not mass-produced like the Z/28. This is an extremely rare example of a real BOSS 302 that is more sought after and desirable while becoming harder to find.

This 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 Fastback (Lot #2049) will cross the auction block in Scottsdale on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Ron Pratte’s prestigious collection of automobilia will kick off the 44th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction beginning Saturday, Jan. 10 at 9 a.m. and running through Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. Pratte’s vehicles first cross the block at 4 p.m. on Tuesday with lot numbers 2000 through 2109 and will continue with lot numbers 2500 through 2530 on Saturday, Jan. 17.

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

From 1966 through 1972, the original Trans Am series showcased not only some of the best professional road racing ever, but it also spurred the creation of fabulous collector cars like the Ford BOSS Mustang, Plymouth AAR Barracuda, and most memorably, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.

Both the Trans Am series and the Z/28 took off in 1969 and Chevrolet dealers sold a remarkable 20,302 Z/28s that year. These Z/28s aren’t street legal racers, but they are about the nearest thing to it.

This ’69 Chevrolet Camarao Z/28 (Lot #2035) has been thoroughly restored by Kent Waters Originals. It comes with voluminous documentation certified by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish, plus photos of the car in 1969 and step-by-step photos of the restoration process. It is finished in authentic and vibrant Rally Green with white racing stripes and a black bucket seat interior. It has a rare NOS Cross-Ram intake manifold, 4.10:1 differential, and many factory options, including Rally Sport trim, rosewood dash inserts, center console with auxiliary gauges and an Endura front bumper.

This ’69 Chevrolet Camarao Z/28 (Lot #2035) will cross the auction block in Scottsdale on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

It has only been shown two other times, one of which was the Goodguys West Coast Nationals in Pleasanton, Calif., where it was crowned “America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod.”

Lot #5004, a ’34 Ford Custom “Jimmy Shine” pickup took the Hot Rod world by storm when it graced the cover of the Rodders Journal in 2001. It was followed by 65 magazine features and has appeared on eight different TV series, including “Hard Shine,” “American Icon” and “Hot Rod Build Off.” The engine is a 277cid H&H Flathead with Navarro heads and intake, and two Stromberg carburetors on top of an S.C.O.T. supercharger. The transmission is a ’39 Ford mated to a ’41 Ford differential on a heavily modified Henry Ford frame designed by Shine with solid front axle and wishbones.

A fully customized ’72 De Tomaso Pantera (Lot #5072), built by the Ringbrothers, combines Italian styling with American horsepower. With 600hp, this custom supercar is built to be as beautiful on the road as it is blindingly fast. At the heart of this Pantera lies a Wegher Motorsport LS3 mated to a ZF 5-speed gearbox from Bowler Performance Transmission and a B&M shifter. To bring the interior of the car to life, the Ringbrothers collaborated with Nike’s innovative Skunk Works design team.
