LAS VEGAS – Nov. 6, 2014 – Velocity, Barrett-Jackson and Jeff Gordon, Inc. announced this morning during VELOCITY LIVE at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas that NASCAR racing legends, Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham will auction off a 1999 No. 24 Pepsi Chevrolet Monte Carlo used in their final season working together during the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in 2015. The duo reunited to restore the Busch Series car to its former glory to benefit Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation, and for a special episode of Evernham’s hit series “AmeriCarna” on Velocity. The car is scheduled to cross the block at the Barrett Jackson Scottsdale auction on January 13 on Velocity.

“The heart of ‘AmeriCarna’ is uncovering long lost 4-wheeled treasures that played a large part in a person’s past,” said Evernham. “The No. 24 car has been an unmistakable artifact of my career, and holds a unique spot in NASCAR history. Reviving the car’s championship glory with my long-time friend, Jeff Gordon, has been a labor of love. We’re proud to revisit its history in an all-new episode of ‘AmeriCarna’ in 2015.”

As the host of Velocity’s AmeriCarna series, Ray Evernham traverses the country in pursuit of telling America’s love affair with cars. Unlike any other automotive-focused series, AmeriCarna sheds light on the profound impact automobiles, of every make and model, have played in American culture.

Among the featured cars crossing the block during the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction is Gordon’s 1999 No. 24 Pepsi Chevrolet Monte Carlo, which won the inaugural Busch Series event at Phoenix International Raceway in 1999. Earlier that year, Gordon/Evernham Motorsports (GEM) was founded to compete in that year’s NASCAR Busch Series season. The team’s Pepsi-sponsored cars ran six races with Gordon as driver and Evernham as crew chief. The last of these six came at Phoenix International Raceway, which was the penultimate race for the driver/crew chief duo, bringing an end to an era in NASCAR competition that was dominated by Gordon and Evernham.

Barrett-Jackson has worked to provide a platform for consignors and charitable causes to align and raise funds. The 2014 Scottsdale car auction sold 14 cars and experiences for charity, which raised more than $4.4 million to benefit a variety of charity and noble causes. Barrett-Jackson continued its strong philanthropic efforts, working side-by-side with auto industry and motorsports to raise money for local and national charities. One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised by Barrett-Jackson go directly to the charity.

The Opening Night Gala kicked off an incredible week of charity auctions items, which included a Billy Baldwin auction of the ultimate 2015 Super Bowl package with all proceeds benefiting the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund as well as a 1987 Oldsmobile Firenza, Warren Johnson’s NHRA Pro Stock Racecar, that was auctioned with all proceeds benefiting the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. In total, the Opening Night Gala raised $160,000.

“Barrett-Jackson has a strong legacy of raising money for local and national charities,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Whether it’s Lot #3001, a 2013 Ford Mustang 2 Door Coupe, and Lot #3005, a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst Coupe, both to benefit the Barrett-Jackson cancer Research Fund at TGen in memory of Russ and Brian Jackson, or Lot #3004 a 2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR Race Car benefiting the NASCAR Foundation or the Lots supporting the Armed Forces Foundation, the vehicles that crossed the block to benefit charities continue Barrett-Jackson’s long tradition of making a difference. We are proud to do what we can to help those in need.”

In addition, Barrett-Jackson’s Gene Simmons-endorsed Lot #3006 a 1956 Ford F-100 Custom Shelby truck to benefit The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan raised $450,000.

Adding to its legacy of giving back to the armed forces, Barrett-Jackson offered a unique part of military history by packaging Lot #3008 a 1959 Cessna L-19E Airplane and Lot #3008.1 a 1958 Dodge M37 Military Truck to bidders. The 1959 model L-19E Bird Dog was donated by Cessna Aircraft Company with special thanks to experts at Kansas Aircraft Corporation, responsible for sourcing the plane. Proceeds from the sale of the package benefited the Armed Forces Foundation and their ongoing efforts to assist active-duty and retired military personnel.

“Supporting the men and woman of the armed forces is something that I am very proud of,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “We are honored to have this platform to celebrate these men and woman and acknowledge their sacrifices.”

GENE SIMMONS, BILLY BALDWIN TEAM UP WITH CRAIG JACKSON’S BARRETT-JACKSON TO MAKE CHARITABLE AUCTION HISTORY
2014 Continues Decades of Philanthropic Support, Help for Those in Need

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. (Jan. 8 , 2013) – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™, has a big heart since holding its first auction in 1971. Barrett-Jackson has worked to provide a platform for consignors and charitable causes to align and raise funds. In January at the company’s 43rd Annual Scottsdale Auction, Jan. 12-19, held at the all-new facility at Westworld of Scottsdale, that tradition continues with many unique offerings set to cross the block.

At the opening gala, January 13th, Billy Baldwin will host a special bid opportunity for an ultimate 2015 Super Bowl package with all proceeds benefiting his charity, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. That same evening, a 1987 Oldsmobile Firenza Warren, Johnson’s NHRA Pro Stock Race car, will be auctioned with all proceeds benefiting the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. Gene Simmons will also participate on Friday January 17th by auctioning off a 1956 Ford F-100 Custom Shelby truck with all proceeds benefitting The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan Foundation.

“Barrett-Jackson has a strong legacy of working with individuals and the causes and organizations that they choose to support. Through our auction platform and waived fees, 100% of the funds bid in a charitable auction flow directly to the cause, maximizing the benefit,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Those benefits, over our history, amount to more than $60 million raised for charitable causes. It is one of the most fulfilling aspects of the work we do.”

Barrett-Jackson works with both philanthropic and charitable organizations, as well as their friends, who come forward with a vehicle or package to consign. Barrett-Jackson utilizes its marketing expertise to create awareness and to package the lot into the auction before proceeding to the block. Barrett-Jackson waives its fees and allows the cause to achieve a huge, cost-free, cash influx.

Other charitable organizations that will benefit from Barrett-Jackson’s fundraising in Scottsdale in January include Make-A-Wish, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, TGEN Foundation, SEMA Cares, Childhelp and Victory Junction, Cox Charities, The NASCAR Foundation, Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans, Ikan, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Cornerstone Schools.

“I personally have taken a huge interest in Lot #3008 and 3008.1, which includes a restored Cessna ’59 L-19 Bird Dog liaison plane and ’59 Dodge M37 Utility vehicle. To me, the opportunity to simultaneously help The Armed Forces Foundation and own a significant piece of U.S. military history is unprecedented,” said Steve Davis, President of Barrett-Jackson. “The team here at Barrett-Jackson gets a special lift out of the impact our auctions have on charities across the country and how we have been able to help so many causes from children to veterans to life-threatening conditions. It makes each auction special.”
