PALM BEACH, Fla. – May 7, 2015 – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions^®, raised close to $1 million for local and national charities during its Palm Beach auction April 17-19, 2015, at the South Florida Fairgrounds. On Saturday, WWE Hall of Fame member Hulk Hogan took center stage and, in true “Hulkamania” fashion, ripped the shirt off his back to help Barrett-Jackson raise much-needed funds for U.S. veterans, children, cancer patients and others across the country. A few generous, philanthropic car dealers combined to raise $400,000 for the Achilles Freedom Team. David Flynn purchased the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Race Car VIN #001 for $300,000 followed by an additional $100,000 pledge from Jeanette and John Staluppi.

WWE Hall of Fame member Hulk Hogan is one of the most popular wrestlers of all time. He is a 12-time world champion, being a six-time WWF/E (World Heavyweight) Champion and six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

In total, five cars and one boat crossed the block in Palm Beach to support charity, which included:

• 2015 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Race Car VIN #001 (Lot #3003) – Raised $400,000 to benefit the Achilles Freedom Team with a $300,000 sale and an additional $100,000 pledge

While those awed the crowds, it was a gorgeous red 2006 Ford GT (Lot #406) with only 19 miles that led the way with a sale of $319,000.

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and his staff were instrumental in the design of this one-of-a-kind Chevelle modeled after Stewart’s style and persona. It is powered by a custom 396 engine and features custom wheels donated by automotive designer Chip Foose.

General Motors is donating a special-built 2015 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Race Car VIN #001 (Lot #3003) to benefit the Achilles Freedom Team, helping build running programs and marathon opportunities for disabled veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Featured in the Chevrolet display at the 2014 SEMA show, this COPO was part of Chevrolet Performance’s 2015 advertising. It showcases all-new COPO graphics and is powered by a 350 “LSX” V8 with a 2.9-liter supercharger rated at 555hp.

GM will also donate a luxurious 2016 Cadillac CT6 Sedan (Lot #3001) to benefit the Karmanos Cancer Institute. Karmanos is a unique, integrated center of research, patient care and education dedicated to the prevention, early detection, treatment and eventual eradication of cancer. Located in Midtown Detroit, Karmanos is among the nation’s best cancer centers, caring for more than 6,000 new patients annually and conducting more than 700 cancer-specific programs and clinical trials.

Proceeds from the auction of a 2015 Bennington 2375 GCW (Lot #3004), donated by Bennington Boats, will benefit the Foundation for Exceptional Warriors (FEW). The FEW assist in the healing process of the families and veterans of Special Operations Forces, those recognized for valorous action and those wounded in combat, regardless of era, by providing customized therapeutic recreational and sporting events to enhance their mental and physical health. This popular G Series model boat is powered by a Yamaha F250XA and features incredible handling and turning with little effort. This 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 is one of more than 140 vehicles from the Ron Pratte Collection crossing the block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in January.

A true 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 (Lot #2049), this beautiful car has matching date codes, casting numbers and engine numbers. With fewer than 2,000 BOSS 302s produced and built in 1969, and with even fewer having the original engine, transmission and rear end, this Mustang is incredibly rare. As reported on the included original Build Sheet and Elite Marti Report, this BOSS was ordered for a retired Ford Employee exactly as is.

The 1969 Mustang BOSS 302 was built for the Trans Am racing circuit back in 1969 and it competed against the Chevy Camaro Z/28. Both cars had the exact same engine displacement and the exact same horsepower, but the BOSS 302 was not mass-produced like the Z/28. This is an extremely rare example of a real BOSS 302 that is more sought after and desirable while becoming harder to find.

This 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 Fastback (Lot #2049) will cross the auction block in Scottsdale on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Ron Pratte’s prestigious collection of automobilia will kick off the 44^th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction beginning Saturday, Jan. 10 at 9 a.m. and running through Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. Pratte’s vehicles first cross the block at 4 p.m. on Tuesday with lot numbers 2000 through 2109 and will continue with lot numbers 2500 through 2530 on Saturday, Jan. 17.

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

From 1966 through 1972, the original Trans Am series showcased not only some of the best professional road racing ever, but it also spurred the creation of fabulous collector cars like the Ford BOSS Mustang, Plymouth AAR Barracuda, and most memorably, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.

Both the Trans Am series and the Z/28 took off in 1969 and Chevrolet dealers sold a remarkable 20,302 Z/28s that year. These Z/28s aren’t street legal racers, but they are about the nearest thing to it.

This ’69 Chevrolet Camarao Z/28 (Lot #2035) has been thoroughly restored by Kent Waters Originals. It comes with voluminous documentation certified by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish, plus photos of the car in 1969 and step-by-step photos of the restoration process. It is finished in authentic and vibrant Rally Green with white racing stripes and a black bucket seat interior. The sale of one-of-one special edition 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat (Lot #3004), the fastest and most powerful muscle car ever, will benefit the not-for-profit Opportunity Village organization of Las Vegas.  The Hellcat’s 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI® V-8 engine and 0001 vehicle identification number (VIN), has an NHRA-certified quarter-mile time of 10.8 seconds at 126 mph, 707 horsepower and 650 ft/lb of torque on tap right from the assembly line. Adding to the exclusivity, the donated muscle car will be the only Dodge Challenger to ever have a Viper-exclusive Stryker Red exterior—hand-painted at the Dodge Viper paint facility—and it will include special Hellcat badging, specific VIN documentation and one-of-a-kind memorabilia. The Hellcat will be sold on Saturday, Sept. 27, at approximately 6 p.m.

The last production unit of the 50 Years Limited Edition Ford Mustang , carrying badge No. 1964 (Lot #3003), will be auctioned on Saturday, Sept. 27, at approximately 4 p.m., with all proceeds going to Get Your Heart Racing, a fundraising event supporting Henry Ford Health System’s Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute.  Based on the all-new 2015 Mustang GT fastback with performance package, the 50 Years Limited Edition model is designed to provide customers with outstanding performance and a unique appearance that will be instantly recognizable. Chevrolet

The highly coveted, first new retail production Corvette Stingray VIN 001 (Lot #3001), with an 8-speed automatic transmission, will cross the block on Friday, Sept. 26, at approximately 6 p.m., with proceeds benefitting the CARE House of Oakland County.  The driver-centric interior features a unique driver-focused cockpit, flat-bottom steering wheel, rigid weight-reducing magnesium seat frame structure and premium soft-touch materials, including Napa leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and a suede microfiber-wrapped trim package. The exterior has wider flared fenders and larger vents, and a more aggressive aerodynamic package.

The 2014 Z/28 Camaro VIN 003 (Lot #3002) will cross the block on Saturday, Sept. 27, at approximately 5 p.m., to benefit the YMCA of Southern Nevada. This Camaro is powered by an LS7 hand-assembled naturally aspirated small block 7.0-Liter V8 engine with 505 hp and 481 ft/lbs of torque (SAE-Certified), Tremec TR6060 manual transmission, full aerodynamics package and large front splitter. The exterior features unique front fascia, functional hood vent, 305/30/ZR19 Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, 19×11″ front and 19×11.5″ rear forged aluminum wheels. The interior features a flat-bottom steering wheel and shift knob in suede, RECARO® seats with microfiber suede inserts and a rear seat modified for weight reduction.
