Mecum Auctions will sell a special 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe SE 3.8L – after 22 years, the very last production Eclipse to ever come off the assembly line and the only V-6 to receive the SE package – during their annual St. Charles Auction, Sept. 15-18, 2011, at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Ill.
The special-edition Eclipse was custom built by Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. to commemorate the end of Eclipse production and to be auctioned at no reserve with all proceeds to be donated to the Japan Red Cross earthquake relief. This rare, one-of-one vehicle features a Kalapana Black paint scheme that was selected by the Mitsubishi Facebook community, 18-inch Dark Argent wheels, SE lower side graphics, sunroof, leather interior, 650w Rockford Fosgate 9-speaker audio system with SiriusXM, hands-free Bluetooth phone interface, rearview camera and HID headlights.
Mitsubishi began producing the iconic Eclipse in 1989, selling four generations of the model over the last 22 years. Total sales since production started is 980,000 cars, making the Eclipse the best-selling Japanese brand sports car of the last 20 years.
“Our goal with this Mitsubishi Eclipse SE was to create a very special car that would best honor the closing of this vehicle families’ chapter, built at our Normal, Illinois facility,” said Greg Adams, VP Marketing & Product Planning at Mitsubishi Motors North America. “We believe this one-off 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse SE will become a highly collectible automobile, and we are excited to work with Mecum Auctions to offer it to collectors at their high-energy events.”
Mecum will auction the Mitsubishi Eclipse (Lot S100) on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1:55 p.m. The sale will be broadcast live on Mecum’s national TV show “Mecum Auto Auction: Muscle Cars & More” on Discovery Communications’ HD Theater.
The St. Charles Auction is open to the general public with tickets available at the door for just $15 per day. For more information or to become a registered bidder for this auction, visit www.Mecum.com or call 815.568.8888.

Mecum Auctions is pleased to announce the Geneva Lake Antique and Classic Boat Auction, the company's first consignment boat event to be held Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at The Abbey Resort on Geneva Lake in Fontana, Wis.
Featuring a large variety of 60 boats, Mecum's Geneva Lake Boat Auction has a vessel to fit everyone's taste and budget - from thousand-dollar row boats to rare, several hundred-thousand-dollar Chris-Crafts. Mecum's Geneva Lake Boat Auction will be held the day after the Annual International Antique and Classic Boat show Sept. 23-24, 2011, and several boats will first participate in the show and then run across the auction block on Sunday.
Among the unique boats going up for bid is a 1986 Wellcraft 38' Scarab KV 38 (Lot U151), which Wellcraft sent to Universal Studios for use in the hit television show "Miami Vice." It was used for all aspects of filming the show, including as the camera platform for "in cockpit" filming, and has undergone a complete bow-to-stern restoration. Engines are twin 565/650 HP GM blocks that can reach speeds of 80+ mph.
"We believe there is a real growth opportunity in the collector boat hobby that includes specialty fiberglass boats in addition to wooden boats, and we are excited to be on the forefront in offering these types of watercraft to the industry," said Scott Ales, boat consignment specialist at Mecum Auctions. "Several other fiberglass brands are expected at the event in September, including Buehler, Donzi, Chris-Craft X19 and two '70s vintage Magnum Marine twin engine boats. Many may remember the Magnum name as the third company started by the famous Don Aronow in 1966. From selling rare wooden classics to multiple award winners, we are proud of Mecum's reputation for selling high-quality collectible boats."
During the recent Monterey Auction in August, Mecum sold the Phantasy II, a 1938 19-foot Chris-Craft Race Boat that won Best of Show at Lake Tahoe the week before the auction. Last year, the auction company sold a 1929 Hacker Craft Runabout known as Typhoon at the 2010 Monterey Auction, and that boat recently won the best Restored Antique Runabout award at the Annual Clayton Antique Boat Show.
Mecum has formed strategic alliances with several companies and individuals in the hobby, including the Antique Boat Center of Ohio, who will be selling a selection of customer boats at the auction.

Thousands flocked from around the world to the Del Monte Golf Course to participate in the third annual Mecum Monterey Auction, Aug. 18-20, 2011.
More than 700 vehicles crossed the auction block at Mecum Monterey, which had a 65% sell-through rate. Combined with off-the-block sales, known as Mecum's The Bid Goes On, total gross sales (excluding buyer's premium) are approaching $25 million. The event's top seller was a 1931 Miller Bowes Seal Fast Special that sold for a hammer price of $2 million and is said to be the only winning two-place Indy car ever sold at public auction. To watch the Indy winner sell, visit https://youtu.be/FpKSTg0XV5w.
"We are very pleased with the impressive, year-after-year growth of our Monterey Auction in just our third year on the peninsula," said President Dana Mecum. "The convenience and comfort of our spacious auction venue combined with the diversity of vehicles offered created an ideal climate for collectors. Our top 10 sales - an incredible mix of classics, European sports cars, race cars and muscle - clearly illustrates what Mecum is all about. From a $2,000 scooter to a $2 million Indy winner, there was truly something for everyone."
Mecum kicked off the three-day auction with a variety of high-quality motorcycles, including a Yamaha YZF-R1 presented by guest auctioneer and noted auto enthusiast Jay Leno. The bike https://pharmacy-no-rx.net/antibiotics.html raised $87,000 for the Bailey's Café School of the Arts in the Bronx. Mecum also offered antique and wooden boats, selling, among others, a 1938 19-foot Chris-Craft Race Boat (Lot F162) for $80,000, after winning Best of Show at Lake Tahoe just the week before.
