Show-n-Shines offer largest prize pool in history of historic car and nostalgia festival

Reno, Nev. – The 27th annual Hot August Nights is promising to be the best event yet with more than $100,000 guaranteed prize money during its highly popular Show-n-Shines. Cash prizes, trophies and ribbons will be handed out to Hot August participants at a variety of Show-n-Shines throughout the region. In addition to the inaugural and prestigious Barrett-Jackson Cup, which awards $40,000 to five deserving winners and is the largest cash prize in car show history, there are 15 Show-n-Shines happening throughout the region that recognize a wide array of vehicles, from the most luxurious collector cars to well-maintained everyday automobiles. Events include a nightly “Best of Show” at the Atlantis Casino Resort and Grand Sierra Resort and a “People’s Choice Award” at John Ascuaga’s Nugget.

“We’re thrilled to have such tremendous participation from our event and resort partners, event sponsors and the community,” said Tony Marini, executive director of Hot August Nights. “This is our largest prize pool yet and further establishes Hot August Nights as the premier classic car event in the world.”

The festival will be packed with more than 5,000 classic vehicles, hundreds of thousands of attendees, exciting events and adrenaline-filled activities. Built at the Baltimore Maryland plant, the second week of June in ’67, this factory SS396 Chevelle is cleaner than the day it left the plant. Offered in its original color of Mountain Green and complemented by the factory black vinyl top and matching interior, this completely restored Chevelle is simply stunning. Having only 28 miles since completion, the exterior is in exceptional condition including all chrome, stainless, turn signal & side marker lenses. The black interior is in excellent condition including the bucket seats, deluxe console, door panels, dash cover and carpet. The fully functional gauges and their lenses are crystal clear and are highlighted by the wood grain steering wheel. This highly optioned Chevelle also has the features like the AM radio, electric clock, seatbelts, wood steering wheel, & factory tachometer.

Featuring a completely rebuilt, 375 horsepower 396, big block V8, and backed by a close ratio 4 Speed transmission, this ’67 was the one to beat at the dragstrip. A 12 blot rear axle, power disc brakes, power steering, & rally wheels wrapped in redline radials round out the package. Driving this Chevelle is a humbling experience. This E-Types body lines are accentuated by the exceptional bright work, and complemented by a black convertible top and interior. The well preserved interior has a touch of patina, showing the spirited past of this classic. The black leather seats wrap you in comfort when touring, and provide a little extra safety with headrests and shoulder belts as mandated for ’70. This series II features the new style rocker switches, a British Leyland Radio, and the famous Jaguar wood steering wheel.  

This XKE’s 4.2 Liter straight six sports https://buytramadolbest.com three Weber carburetors & a Stainless header pipes which adds to the pleasure of driving this E-Type. The engine was removed for the restoration and serviced, at which time TLD restored and refreshed any and all components possible under the bonnet. The syncro-mesh 4-speed gear box makes for crisp shifts as the fully independent suspension and the 4 wheel disc brakes help control this stunning roadster. An updated cooling system works via an enlarged "mouth" and twin electric fans, helping this Jag stay cool.

The rare Super 90 engine package featured light-alloy cylinders, a lighter flywheel, stiffer valve springs, light-alloy rockers, larger-diameter main bearings, a unique oil pickup system that allowed the engine to draw lubricant from the sump’s full side in hard cornering, topped off with two Solex Carburetors. This was the most potent 2 cam power package available in '61.

Dropping the top and getting on your way is a breeze in this roadster. You can button down the Tonneau cover or keep it open for a companion. Born a 1934 Chrysler CB Sedan, this rare Chrysler was passed around towards the end of its career, waiting for it’s inevitable date with the crusher.  Luckily, it ended up in North Carolina where a custom streetrod builder had a vision that became reality, a ’34 Chrysler panel Truck or Phantom Delivery. After chopping the top 4”s and ditching the rear windows and doors, the shape of this Chrysler took shape. Tweeking almost every inch of this car finally allowed for the Custom Yellow over Naples Gold paint to be sprayed to perfection. The two tone combination is broken up by a suttle pinstripe that breaks up by the rear paneling for the perfect balance of elegance and sinister. The matching yellow dash board blends into the door panels as they meet the beige leather paneling and complete leather interior.
