Barrett-Jackson Revs Up For Inaugural Automotive Lifestyle Event In Orange County, California

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – May 4, 2010 – The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company is now accepting consignment and bidder applications for its Inaugural Barrett-Jackson Orange County Collector Car Auction on June 25-27, 2010 at the Orange County Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. This will be the first Barrett-Jackson automotive lifestyle event in Southern California, which will include a road rally and cruise-in, as well as other activities being planned before the three day collector car auction begins. SPEED will broadcast 18 hours of the three day auction in live high definition.

“The West Coast is a vibrant collector car market and represents a great opportunity to grow the hobby among new enthusiasts and veteran collectors alike,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman/CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “People who have attended our auctions or watched them on SPEED have been asking us to bring a car event to Southern California for years. This fourth event is designed to feed that demand in the area with a diverse docket of the best vehicles available on the market. We plan to include ride & drives, top vendors and lifestyle activities, all with uniquely California-style flair.”

The OC Fair & Event Center is located off the 405 and 55 freeways at 88 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa. The event will encompass the OC Fair & Event Center grounds and include the famous collector car auction, sponsor promotions and displays, vendors, exhibitors, interactive demonstrations, parties and other festivities with hundreds of vehicles crossing the block. In Barrett-Jackson tradition, the Orange County event will feature several highlights for enthusiasts around the world who are unable to attend the auction, such as live online bidding.

“The Orange County auction will include the same kind of excitement and magic that people enjoy at our other auctions in Scottsdale, Palm Beach and Las Vegas,” added Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “The new OC Fair & Event Center is the perfect place to create an event that will cater to anyone who loves this hobby. From the fantastic cars to celebrities, once in a lifetime experiences and hot auction action, this will be a fantastic weekend for everyone.”

Through its relationship with SPEED, Barrett-Jackson events are the subject of highly rated television programs that are telecast to a national audience with over 70 hours of live TV and hundreds of hours of replays throughout the year. At the Orange County event, SPEED will broadcast from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 25; 12 to 8 p.m. on Sat.; and from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sun. (all broadcasts are in Pacific Daylight Time.) “We’re elated that Barrett-Jackson is bringing the high octane excitement of their auction to Orange County,” said Steve Beazley, CEO, OC Fair & Event Center. “Not only will they rev up the enthusiasm of the collector car hobby in Southern California, but we believe the event will have a positive impact on our local economy and tourism, as well as create some great national visibility for OCFEC, Costa Mesa and Orange County.”
