Barrett-Jackson partners with Make-A-Wish® and Bugatti to benefit future wish kids
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Make-A-Wish® Arizona has announced a partnership with the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. That partnership will unfold at the 43rd annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Jan. 12-19, 2014 at Westworld of Scottsdale.
Barrett-Jackson and Bugatti will auction off one of its most exclusive Bugatti events and the first of its kind to be offered for sale in the United States. The money raised will benefit the Arizona-based charity and the approximately 400 wish kids in Arizona that are currently waiting for their one true wish.
On Saturday, January 18th, at approximately 5:00 PM MST, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auction™ will auction the ultimate test drive experience – an opportunity only available to Bugatti customers. Bidders will have the chance to win the ultimate experience with the latest Bugatti models at speeds only achievable in a Vitesse, while proceeds from this offering will benefit and support Arizona children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The winning bidder will be able to test drive the 1200 HP Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse on the world-renowned Formula 1 test track Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet, France. The four-day experience will include a tour of the original site in France where Ettore Bugatti established his automotive brand in 1909, and where he designed and perfected the most exclusive automobiles of the last century. It features a look behind the scenes where the Vitesse is hand crafted in Bugatti’s state of the art Atelier. The package includes airfare and hotel for the winning bidder and a guest.
“Make-A-Wish® Arizona is excited to partner with two world class companies, Barrett-Jackson and Bugatti, as we work together to grant a record number of wishes in 2014,” said Elizabeth Reich, president and chief executive officer for Make-A-Wish Arizona. “Barrett-Jackson has long had a reputation of supporting charities nationally and we are honored to be considered for this opportunity to reach a new audience with our vision of making every eligible child’s wish come true. We are also thrilled to be introduced to Bugatti through our friends at Barrett-Jackson for this one-of-a kind package that will raise money for Make-A-Wish Arizona.”
Craig Jackson, Barrett-Jackson Chairman and CEO said, “In our 43 years, we’ve raised nearly $60 million for hundreds of charities locally and nationally. Make-A-Wish® is a cause we’re passionate about, and it’s one we’re proud to support. We hope to have a long standing partnership with Make-A-Wish and help many children smile as their wishes come true.”
“We are very happy to be part of this wonderful initiative in partnership with Barrett-Jackson and Make-A-Wish,” said Dr. Stefan Brungs, Member of the Board of Bugatti for Marketing, Sales and Customer Service. “There is nothing more fulfilling than bringing a smile to a child’s face. Bugatti has a tradition of inviting children to our company headquarters in Molsheim for charity. We are convinced that our Bugatti Experience on auction will bring in generous bidders who will find adrenaline through their drive as well as a lasting effect the proceeds will have on the organization’s children.”
