Barrett-Jackson Cup Competition Returns To Reno Tahoe For Hot August Nights Auction
The atmosphere in the arena at the 2014 Hot August Nights Auction presented by Barrett-Jackson was electric as the winner of the Barrett-Jackson Cup – a 1957 Chevrolet Pickup – was revealed onstage.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – June 23, 2015 – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions®, announced today that the Barrett-Jackson Cup competition will return to Hot August Nights for the third consecutive year. The Barrett-Jackson Cup boasts one of the largest prize purses of any collector car competition and attracts many of the finest custom cars from around the world. Finalists from last year’s Barrett-Jackson Cup included Goodguys, AMBR and Ridler award winners.
“We’re bringing the same high-octane excitement to Reno Tahoe that we’ve built up at our Scottsdale and Palm Beach auctions,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Not only will we have a diverse docket of customs, muscle and late model vehicles, we’re also bringing the Barrett-Jackson Cup competition back to Reno. With the largest prize purse of its kind, no other custom car competition rewards the hard work and talent of custom builders like the Barrett-Jackson Cup.”
The 2015 Barrett-Jackson Cup competition will host many of the world’s top custom cars and trucks. Renowned judges, including Bobby Alloway, Pete Chapouris and Bob Millard, will pick a total of 25 cars from the “Barrett-Jackson Cup Show-N-Shine,” Aug. 5-7 on 4th Street in downtown Reno. Differing from years past, all 25 cars will be brought to the auction site, where the five finalists will be announced on Saturday. The Ultimate Best of Show winner will then be awarded the Barrett-Jackson Cup at the close of auction.
In addition to many of the hottest customs, muscle and late-model consignments, the Barrett-Jackson auction and Hot August Nights will deliver an exciting week of activities for the whole family. Hot August Nights draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to northern Nevada, providing them the opportunity to participate in organized cruising, drag races, Show-N-Shines, concerts and more.
