“Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Week” Declared In Palm Beach County

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – March 26, 2010 – The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company announced today that Commissioner Burt Aaronson officially declared March 27-April 3, 2010, “Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Week” in Palm Beach County. Aaronson presented the proclamation to Rick Vymlatil, president/CEO of Palm Beach County Expositions Inc., on Tuesday in honor of the 8th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach and other automotive-themed events hosted by Barrett-Jackson beginning tomorrow.

“Everyone at Barrett-Jackson appreciates the support of the current Commissioner Aaronson and the Palm Beach County during the past eight years,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman/CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Dynamic partnerships with area organizations and the enthusiasm of Palm Beach County residents have helped make our annual auction and activities unlike any other automotive event in the country.”

“Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Week” in Palm Beach County kicks off Saturday, March 27 at 3:00pm with the Inaugural Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Road Rally. The rally will travel from the Palm Beach County Convention Center to the Gucci Courtyard on Worth Avenue, with local car clubs as participants. The opening weekend continues tomorrow evening with Barrett-Jackson Night at CityPlace from 4-8 p.m.

On Sunday, Wayne Akers Ford in Lake Worth will host the 3rd annual Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Cruise-In from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Barrett-Jackson executives will attend the Cruise-In to greet local car enthusiasts and select three “Barrett-Jackson Choice Awards.”

“We’ve taken our presence in Palm Beach to an entirely new level this year,” added Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Communities throughout Palm Beach County have played a major role in making Barrett-Jackson the premier collector car auction on the East Coast. We’ve ratcheted up the thrills this year with several grassroots events and of course, another exciting auction on April 1-3.”

Barrett-Jackson shifts its focus to the Americraft Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds on Wednesday, where it will host “The Party” at 7 p.m. For $75 per couple, guests can enjoy great food and entertainment while partying the night away with Barrett-Jackson.

Another Barrett-Jackson tradition will get a new twist this year at the Palm Beach event. Over the past several years, the Darrell Gwynn Foundation has raised funds at Barrett-Jackson by auctioning cars with 100% of the proceeds benefiting its programs. Before each collector car auction starts, the Foundation gives a wheelchair to a deserving child. To further the organization’s fundraising efforts, Barrett-Jackson will also conduct a live auction with several unique items and experiences to benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation during “The Party” on Wednesday night.

The Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach collector car auction takes center stage on Thursday through Saturday. The auction action begins with the automobila before moving to the world’s most desirable vehicles crossing the block at No Reserve.
