Scottsdale, Ariz. (January 22, 2012) – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™, announced this weekend that it has called upon well-known automotive aficionado, Gordon McCall, to help launch and maintain its newly created “Salon Offering Collection” division.
Best known for his knowledge and vast experience in the collector car industry, McCall will bring a unique qualification of combined skills to this new venture. Gordon’s first task will be to work with both buyers and sellers to promote the Salon Offering Collection and add his 30 years of expertise and knowledge to the momentum of this exciting new entity.
The Salon Offering Collection is a new portion of the Barrett-Jackson Auctions that offers buyers high-end and highly-sought classic vehicles with reserve-prices. It represents a return to the auction company’s 41-year roots as Barrett-Jackson was founded on selling classics.
“Gordon is uniquely qualified to work with these high-end classics and their consigners and buyers,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “His decades of experience combined with the people he knows will help to ensure that Barrett-Jackson will always provide buyers with the finest vehicles on the market.
As a Class judge at the Pebble Beach Concour’s d’Elegance and Field Coordinator for more than 25 years, Gordon currently is the Co-Founder and Motorsports Director for the world-renowned “The Quail” A Motorsports Gathering and the latest addition “The Quail” A Motorcycle Gathering, with close friend Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of the Peninsula Shanghai Hotel Group.
Gordon McCall’s professional affiliations continue to evolve around his motorsports, motorcycle, and bicycling interests. Board of Director appointments include: Member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Laguna Seca Raceway, Co-Founder and Chairman Emeritus for the Naval Postgraduate School Cycling Club, and Member of the Board of Directors for the California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation which assists widows and orphans of CHP officers killed in the line of duty.
