Barrett-Jackson Announces First Ever Scottsdale Road Rally And Cruise-in To Kick-off 39th Annual Classic Car Auction

Scottsdale, Ariz. – January 12, 2010 – The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, creator of “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™,” begins another historic auction season in 2010 with their First Annual Scottsdale Road Rally and Cruise-In on Saturday, Jan. 16. The events include many consigned vehicles that will cross the block at the 39th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction, taking place Jan. 18 – 24 at WestWorld of Scottsdale.

“As we enter a brand new decade of bringing car enthusiasts together, we couldn’t think of a more appropriate way to kick off the week then with a Road Rally in the city where it all began,” said Craig Jackson, Barrett-Jackson CEO and Chairman. “For more than 40 years, Barrett-Jackson has set the standard in collector car auctions and we anticipate a booming 40 more to come.”

From 12 – 3 p.m. approx. 75 cars taking part in the Road Rally will gather at the SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, located at 1475 N. Scottsdale Rd. at McDowell Rd, where spectators can get a sneak peak at the vehicles before they cruise a seven mile course through the streets of Scottsdale beginning at 3 p.m. The Rally will conclude at the Scottsdale Pavilions where “Barrett-Jackson Night” and a Cruise-In open to the public will take place from 4 – 8 p.m. Entry into the car show is free and all makes and models are welcome. Barrett-Jackson President, Steve Davis, and VP of Consignment, Gary Bennett, will be on hand to meet enthusiasts, judge entries and present the “Barrett-Jackson Choice Awards.” The public is encouraged to attend to see the cars up close, as well as enjoy give-a-ways, live radio remotes and purchase discounted tickets to the auction.

The Road Rally and Cruise-In are both examples of the increased lifestyle component company executives have been adding to the auction over the past several years. Hundreds of vendors and sponsors will be represented at this year’s event, offering fashion, artwork, collectibles, and culinary experiences.

“The Scottsdale Auction is constantly evolving and over the years has grown into an event that offers something for the entire family,” said Steve Davis, president, Barrett-Jackson. “This year we will jumpstart a brand new season not only with some incredible vehicles our auctions have become known for, but also the largest number of lifestyle, entertainment and nightlife offerings we’ve ever provided.” For more information about the 39th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction and a complete schedule of events, please visit www.barrett-jackson.com.
