Mecum’s Spring Kansas City Auction Reached $6 Million in Sales
An award-winning 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe topped the list of more than 300 collector cars sold at the recent Mecum Kansas City Auction, held April 9-10 at the Kansas City Convention Center/Bartle Hall.
“Total gross sales for the two-day auction, excluding buyer’s premium, was $6,375,000, which nearly tripled the dollar value from our previous Spring Kansas City Auction,” said President Dana Mecum. “The Bartle Hall venue continues to be a great location, and when combined with our live television program ‘Mecum Auto Auction: Muscle Cars & More,’ we were able to draw a very strong crowd to the event.”
Mecum had a 62% sell-through rate at the Spring Kansas City Auction, who Top 10 Sales (all sales reflect hammer prices) were:
1. 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 427/435 (Lot S110.1) at $125,000
2. 1965 Ford Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster (Lot S82) – one of the CSK6000 continuation series – at $84,000
3. 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible (Lot S104) at $82,000
4. 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 283/220 HP (Lot S81) at $65,000
5a. 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe 427/390 HP (Lot S79) at $61,000
5b. 1965 Pontiac GTO Convertible (Lot S181) at $61,000
7. 2007 Cadillac XLR Supercharged Automatic (Lot F92) at $57,500
8. 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible (Lot S146) at $56,000
