Third Annual Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction Concludes With More Than $14 Million In Revenue; Over 54,000 In Attendance
World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions Wraps Up Southern California Automotive and Lifestyle Event with a One Million Dollar Increase in Sales and more than 400 Cars Sold
SCOTTSDALE, AZ. – June 26, 2012 – Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™, announced today that its third Annual Orange County, Calif. auction, held June 22-24 at the OC Fair & Event Center, generated more than $14 million in sales of Classics, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, Resto-Mods, Exotics and Contemporary Collectibles in front of a crowd of over 54,000.
The three-day event, which featured more than 400 vehicles, was also enjoyed by millions across the country on SPEED, with 16 hours of live coverage. Sales figures exceeded last year’s numbers, further bolstering this year’s trend of economic improvement and growing popularity for the Southern California lifestyle event.
The third Annual Orange County Auction also brought in a large number of new bidders with 66 percent having registered to bid at the event for the first time. Additionally, Barrett-Jackson saw some fantastic individual sales, including the following vehicles:
- Lot # 1003 – 2013 SRT Viper Two Door Coupe – $300,000 (Sale benefitted the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer)
- Lot # 366 – 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 – $253,000
- Lot # 1001 – 1965 Ford Ranchero Custom Pickup – $200,000 (Sale benefitted the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital)
- Lot # 1004 – 2012 Lotus Evora S Two Door Coupe – $200,000 (Sale benefitted the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund)
- Lot # 370 – 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible – $154,000

Barrett-Jackson continued to spotlight and support a wide cross-section of local and national charities at the Orange County event. Over $1.1million was raised for eight charity vehicles that crossed the auction block. Barrett-Jackson not only waives all fees and commissions on these charity offerings, but also promotes the charitable vehicles leading up to the auction to help create interest and awareness for the respective charities.
