’71 Hemi ’Cuda Convertible, ’67 Corvette L88 Headline Mecum Seattle Auction

Mecum Auctions has continued to take the classic and collector car auction action to states all across the U.S., and next on the extensive list of locales is Seattle, Wash. With an anticipated lineup of 600 vehicles set to be auctioned June 13-14, it’s certain to be two days jam-packed with loud, fast cars and hard-hammering sales.

Headlining the auction are a few of the most rare and coveted collector cars available, including a 1971 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda Convertible, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Coupe and a collection of four matching Boss Mustangs dubbed the Calypso Coral Boss Quartet.

The ’71 ’Cuda (Lot S95) is one of just two four-speed examples delivered in the U.S. and the only one still powered by its factory-original engine and drivetrain. Well-documented and fully restored, this car has been hailed by experts as the Holy Grail of muscle cars. The 1967 Corvette L88 (Lot S113) enjoys a high profile in the Corvette community and has everything for the discerning collector. One of just 20 produced in 1967, it is a rare factory side exhaust-equipped version of the first-year L88 documented with the original tank sticker, restored by the renowned Naber Brothers and featured in multiple Bloomington Gold Special Collections spanning three decades.

For the die-hard Boss Mustang fans, the Calypso Coral Boss Quartet that will cross Mecum’s auction block comprises a 1970 Mustang Boss 429 Fastback (Lot S118), a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Fastback (Lot S118.1), a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Fastback (Lot S119) and a 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Patriot Edition (Lot S119.1) all dressed in their stunning, factory-correct Calypso Coral paint. Offered from the Legacy Collection of Josh Dykes and Tony Grover, these four cars each represent highly desirable examples of their respective year and model type.

Buyers, sellers and spectators are invited to attend the auction. Doors to the Seattle event open each day at 8 a.m. and portions of all three days of the auction will be broadcast live on NBC Sports and Esquire networks as well as at Mecum.com. Mecum’s website is updated daily with the latest consignments including detailed descriptions and photographs of the vehicles.
